Last Friday Brian and I photographed a wedding at Jester Park on Saylorville Lake. The location was beautiful but unfortunately the weather was not. The rain put a little damper on outdoor photos but we made the best of it and were still able to get some great photos. Below are a few of our favorites. Congratulations Emily and Bob!
Olivia is a 2009 senior. We got outside and the color outdoors was great. It's the time of year where you can really find some bright oranges, yellows, and reds. We got some great shots and below are a few of our favorites. Congratulations Olivia!
This weekend Ashley and Kaylee, who is behind the scenes of Nuzum Photo and a big helping hand when we do events, will be participating in Race for the Cure. It means a lot to Ashley and I to help out. On Saturday Ashley and I got to travel to Grinnell to photograph Kristen and Ben's wedding. We were anxiously anticipating this wedding. We knew we were going to be able to take some shots at a local pumpkin farm. However, the pumpkin farm was booming, as should be expected this time of the year. Ashley and I actually got the chance the take some pictures of our two sons in the studio the other day. Cole and Gavin are no strangers to the camera. We have a couple of wild animals and Ashley is certainly the zoo keeper.
Katie is a senior at Clarke of Osceola. Katie was extremely laid back and easy going. She was great in front of the camera. We had a good time and hit some great locations. Here are a few of our favorites. Congratulations Katie!
We split Carrie and Ryan's engagement shoot into two separate shoots so they could get some summer and fall shots. Just like the first time around these two are a lot of fun. They really bring out the best in each other. We had a great time again. Congratulations Carrie and Ryan!
On September 27, Brian and I photographed Ranae and Caleb's wedding at the Botanical Center in Des Moines. Brian doesn't get a lot of opportunities to photograph weddings with us, but he does a great job when he gets the chance. Both Ranae and Caleb were great with taking pictures. On Friday, Ashley and I had the opportunity to photograph senior photos for Kayla. She is a senior at North High School this year. It was a little cool out, but Kayla was a great sport and we had a good time. Below are a few of our favorites. Congratulations Kayla!
Next year Ashley and I will be photographing Jessica and Matt's wedding. When we met with them we realized that they actually don't live too far from us, just a couple blocks. We had a great time and the pictures really show that. Below are just a few of our favorites.
Sarah and Lynnea drove all the way to Des Moines from Forest City just for their senior photos. These two are more fun and have more energy than most people I know. They are deeply involved in their school and have great personalities also. We shared some interesting moments during the shoot and a couple are displayed below. They include a stop at the park to swing on the swing set and a two person performance, for a two person audience. Congratulations Sarah and Lynnea.
Kylie is a senior at Roosevelt High School this year. We started out at Grey's Lake, however the wind made for some interesting moments. Every time we do a shoot at the lake, we tend to fight the wind. In the end we were able to get some great shots. Kylie was a natural in front of the camera. Congratulations Kylie.
Ashlea is a senior at the same high school that Ashley and I graduated from, Saydel. We hit Water Works Park at just the right time and got some great shots with the sun setting. Congratulations Ashlea.
Ciera is a senior at North High School. She brought along the dog for a few pictures, and they turned out great. Dog's always make a picture a little bit better. Congratulations Ciera!
Jessi is a senior this year at North High School. She was great to work with and willing to put up with anything we threw at her. Congratulations Jessi!
There are many things that I can say about this photo shoot and the most important is that these two were great to work with! We had much adversity from the time we started to the time we stopped, but these two were great throughout even with the problems we encountered. Our first stop was the state capital. However, we didn't anticipate duel protests/rallies. So we moved along. We went to the art center where we were able to take several good shots. So we thought we'd visit the Rose Garden and Greenwood park while we were there....nope. Wedding in the Rose Garden, wedding in the ampitheatre, and some fishing thing at the pond. So we headed over to Water Works Park. Finally, no people and a chance to take some shots with the two of them. Below are just a few of our favorites.
I went to high school with Lisa and recently we were able to take some family photos for her. Any time you throw five kids into one setting your bound to turn out some great pictures. We had some great cheesers and some that just didn't want to be in front of the camera. Below are a few of our favorite shots.

Last week Ashley and I photographed an engagement session with Toni and Shaun. They are getting married next year and happened to be in town. The pictures turned out perfect. We had a great time with them. We just kept taking shots and moving and moving. We are really looking forward to next year's wedding.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Robin and Cale's engagement photos at Grey's Lake. We had a great time. The lake is the perfect location for engagement photos and these two have a ton of fun. Their personalities are perfect for each other. They love each other and they love to have fun. Ethan just turned 5 and is full of energy. We had his attention for all of 15 minutes, then he was off and running. He has a great attitude and was a natural in front of the camera. Below are a few of our favorite shots.
Ashley and I photographed Anna and Stevie this past weekend. We always have a lot of fun when we get the chance to photograph these two. Stevie has the insta-smile. You try to catch him with a natural smile, but some how he turns it right back into a card board box smile. He definitely knows when the camera is on him.
A couple weeks ago, Ashley and I got out and photographed Mirsada and Aldin. These two will be getting married next year. When these two are together you can really tell how much they care for each other. Their personalities are great together. We are definitely looking forward to next year's wedding.
