Yesterday I ventured out to Saylorville Lake with Nicole and Josh.  We originally scheduled outdoor photos but poor weather forced us to complete just studio photos.  Well we got the outdoor stuff rescheduled and made the most of our time.  I had a blast and these two were so much fun!  We climbed up and down the side of the lake and they trekked with me as I tried to figure out where we were headed and what location we would shot at.  In the end we made it through the shoot and turned out some great shots.  Below are just a few of our favorites.

This past Saturday, Ashley and I attended and photographed a wedding for our friends Jessica and Matt.  The wedding was in Newton, IA at an awesome church right near downtown.  With the reception only a few blocks away we had plenty of time to get some great shots.  The bridal party was one of the best we've been around and were willing to do just about anything.  Jessica and Matt also had a photo booth at their wedding.  This was the first wedding we've attended that took part in this new trend.  Ashley and I couldn't resist and even got in on the action!  Below are a few of our favorite shots!  Congratulations Jessica and Matt!

Last night Ashley and I had an awesome photo shoot with Sara and Mark.  We were taking engagement photos and traveled all across the Rose Garden and Greenwood park before heading to Water Works Park.  We found great places for photos and made use of most of them.  It was the complete nature tour and we did a little hiking, but from the results I would say it was well worth it.  Below are just a select few of our favorites.

Yesterday, Ashley and I photographed engagement photos with Tara and Nick.  They have a late August wedding planned and we will be there for that as well!  Yesterday's warm temperatures were a little taste of what August weather can be like.  We started by taking a few quick photos in studio and then heading out to Water Works Park.  Not everything was in full bloom at WWP, but we had plenty of opportunities for great shots.  We had a great time and a few of our favorites are below.

On Saturday, Ashley and I photographed Andrea and Eric's wedding at the Meadows in Altoona, IA.  The Meadows is one of the newest and most exciting wedding/wedding reception locations.  The inside is beautiful and allows for some great indoor picture opportunities.  We were able to get several shots there.  We also headed outside, although a bit windy, to capture a few shots with some blue sky.  Andrea and Eric were both up for all the pictures we could throw at them and their families were great as well.  Below are just few of our favorites.  Congratulations Andrea and Eric!

On Saturday Ashley and I photographed Jessica and Jeff's wedding.  Ashley and I really like to get outside and take shots that are informal and more fun.  Jessica and Jeff were right there with us.  They wanted shots that were less posed and more random and fun.  With the reception being held Blank Park Golf Course in Des Moines, we were able to capture some really fun images.  We went outside and enjoyed the beautiful day.  Below are just a few of our favorites.  Congratulations Jessica and Jeff!

Friday evening Ashley and I were in Waukee photographing two-week old Caleb.  Newborn shoots always work best when the babies sleep......but they rarely like to do what you want them to.  He slept for just a bit and we were able to get some great shots.  Below are just a few of our favorites.

This past Saturday Ashley and I photographed Niki and Mark's wedding.  We had a ton of fun with these two and their entire bridal party.  As we went to take fun pictures and the candid formals they were full of ideas.  I can not take credit for some of the ideas displayed in the photos below...you will see what I mean.  We captured some of the most unique photos we have ever had on our blog or website.  Ashley and I really had a great time.  These guys were awesome to work with.  Congratulations Niki and Mark!

Last Friday Ashley and I photographed a wedding at the Blank Park Zoo.  Jaime and Sasa had originally planned an outdoor wedding at the Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens near the Des Moines River, however it was unavailable for their date.  They moved the wedding to the Zoo and held the ceremony in the discovery center near the Aquariums.  It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony.  Jaime, Sasa, and families were great to work with.  Congratulations Jaime and Sasa!

Last year Ashley and I did two free engagement sessions based on creativity and uniqueness of location.  Kate and Bubba were our first winners.  We did an outdoor shoot in Indianola at Buxton Park.  They also wanted to do a quick indoor shoot and we finally got time and had them in the studio.  Below are a few of our favorites from the indoor session.
