This weekend Ashley and I photographed Brandy and Teague's wedding in at a home in West Des Moines.  The day started off with some pictures of groom Teague and his groomsmen.  The sun was shining and it was a warm 87.  I always have a ton of sympathy for the guys when they are outside in those dark tuxes.  The guys did great and we got the shots in.  Luckily when we started the girls pictures, it was clouded over.  Still warm, but not nearly as bad as when they guys did their pictures.  Overall we had a great time in a great setting.  Be sure to check out the custom built chapel in the photo below.  It was used just for this wedding and provided a great backdrop for a backyard wedding.  Below are just a few of our favorites.  Congratulations Brandy and Teague!

On Monday I was able to get out and beat the weather to photograph engagement photos for Allison and Jason.  We headed to the Rose Garden and even took a few at the art center.  While I was warned about someone's dislike for photos, Jason, these two were just fine and the photos turned out great.  Here's to hoping the weather holds off for the upcoming shoots this weekend!  Congratulations Allison and Jason.

The Rose Garden is a great place to have photos taken and definitely one of our favorites.  On Sunday Amella and Damir chose the Rose Garden to have their engagement pictures taken.  As much time as we spend there taking photos you'd think at some point we would run out of ideas....not the case.  These two were great to work with and open for some of the goofier shots we requested of them.  In the end they turned out great.  These two are comfortable around each other, really know how to make each other laugh, and it really shows.  Congratulations to these two and good luck with the upcoming wedding!  (P.S...we are also doing a downtown night shoot next week with these two, so watch for those photos.)

This past Saturday Ashley and I photographed Carrie and Ryan's wedding.  The ceremony was held at the Sylvan Theater in Greenwood Park.  It was a great location for a wedding and provided a fantastic backdrop.  Before the ceremony we headed downtown for some shots in East Village.  The wedding party was great to work with and made picture taking very easy.  It has been great to get to know Carrie and Ryan over the last year leading up to the wedding.  Below are just a few of our favorites.  Congratulations Carrie and Ryan!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get out and photograph Maddie and Kyle's engagement photos.  They were looking for some shots downtown and it was a perfect day for photos.  These two drove into Des Moines from Minnesota and were ready to go upon arrival.  Engagement shoots are great because it gives us the opportunity to work with each other before the wedding day and get to see how each react to the photo shoot process.  These two were awesome and got me really excited for the big day in September!  And although you couldn't tell it from our favorites here...they didn't kiss in every picture but these two are great together and especially in front of the camera.  Below are just a few of our favorites.

This past Friday Ashley photographed her cousin's three children, Taylor, Mason, and Isabelle.  Isabelle is the newest addition to the Porepp family.  Ashley had an impromptu photo session with Isabelle at the family's Easter gathering (our cameras are like Am Ex, you never leave home without it), but good to get them in studio for a formal shoot.  Below are just a few of our favorites!

This past Saturday Ashley and I photographed Nicole and Josh's wedding in Gilbert, IA.  The church had some great areas around it for pictures and we made the most of them.  After the ceremony we headed to the Memorial Union on the Iowa State Campus.  Not the first time we have taken pictures there, we had a lot of fun...so much so that a particular groomsmen split his pants.  But that is a story for another time.  We had a great day with these two and the entire wedding party.  Below are a few of our favorites.  Congratulations Nicole and Josh!

Yesterday Ashley photographed baby Caleb for a second time.  Caleb is now 6 weeks old and growing like a weed....ah bad cliches.  The point is he is getting big.  Some of you may have met our son Cole and he was along for this photo shoot.  Quite the helper.  He is just about ready to have a camera in his hands at all times too.  Below are just a few of our favorites.

This week Ashley photographed maternity pictures for Lindsey.  Lindsey and her husband are expecting a baby boy on July 11th.  The photo shoot went really well and they turned out great.  It is always an honor to be a part of such an important time in someone's life.  Below are a few of our favorites.

On Saturday Ashley and I photographed Kristi and Gino's wedding.  These two were planning their wedding long distance and this was the first time we got to meet them.  They were awesome to work with.  They were up for all the crazy photo ideas we put them through and they photos turned out awesome.  That combined with their great families made it a great day!  Below are just a few of our favorites.  Congratulations Kristi and Gino!
